We may have been bombarded with how important it is to make healthy food choices. But we are reminded for a purpose.
Making responsible and healthy lifestyle choices can prevent us from having chronic illnesses. Before we are aware that these chronic diseases will appear once we reach a certain age. Unfortunately, now, that certain age has become sooner than expected. We as adults need all the control and discipline that we need to make nutritious meal choices, and it is definitely more important to instill this discipline and awareness to our children by preparing nutritious food for kids.
There is a two-step process in making healthier, nutritious food choices. And the first process is to make sure that we include the ‘good food’ in our diet. Concentrate on preparing meals or snacks from real food. When we say real food, we mean protein, vegetables, fruits and water. Once we have gotten used to this first process, we have already improved our health and our kid’s health dramatically.
The moment you train your children to eat these real food, it would be very easy for them to be live a healthy and wellness lifestyle. At this stage, you instantly become a life coach to them. Guiding them early on what they must eat in order to be healthy and alert and fit.
These kids know that in order for us to function well, our bodies must intake the right kind of fuel on a daily basis. And the right kind of fuel is ‘real food’. Some parents are even so creative that they come up with games and make their food more attractive.
The second process of this healthy mission is to reduce, if not totally eliminate the junk food in the groceries and the meal menu. Just remember that when we still keep these toxic foods in our system, it may defeat the purpose of training your kids to eat healthy and nutritious meals.
